GCTC Black History Month GCTC Celebration Spotlights “Dream Team”

Gateway Community and Technical College will honor “The Dream Team,” President Barack Obama and the late civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., at its Black History Month celebration Thursday, Feb. 26, at the college’s Edgewood Campus, 790 Thomas More Parkway.
Dr. Augustine Yaw Frimpong-Mansoh, assistant professor of philosophy at Northern Kentucky University, will be the featured speaker. A native of Africa, Dr. Frimpong-Mansoh received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Ghana, Legon; another bachelor’s degree from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada, and a Ph. D. from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
The program, which begins at 11:50 a.m. in Room 214 of the Nursing and Allied Health Science Center, will also include student poetry readings by members of GCTC’s Multicultural Student Organization.
