Return to News List Gateway CTC Offers SHRM® Human Resource Certification Training , - August 03, 2009 Gateway Community and Technical College, through its Workforce Solutions Division, will offer a human resources professional training program, the SHRM® Learning System Course, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 18. The SHRM® Learning System Course offers an in-depth overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).  “Besides being a powerful tool to help prepare people for the PHR or SPHR certification exams, the SHRM® Learning System Course also provides a solid foundation for managing the HR challenges common in today’s demanding work environment,” said Phil Accardi, director of the GCTC Center for Workforce Development. “The course supplies a current reference of HR practices, broadens the perspective of functional specialists, and strengthens individual competencies and productivity.” Instructors in the GCTC program are PHR or SPHR certified and have extensive work experience as human resource professionals. “They bring practical expertise into the classroom, giving participants an invaluable perspective on the professional world,” Accardi added. The SHRM® Learning System Course will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. from Aug.18 through Nov. 17. All classes will take place at GCTC’s Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence, KY.
