Gateway Schedules Computer Courses

Gateway Community and Technical College is offering four non-credit Microsoft computer courses that provide basic to intermediate skills in popular software programs. The courses cover Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
All courses will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at Gateway’s Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way near Florence.
A course in Microsoft Word presents essential functions including creating, editing and formatting Word documents. The class meets Oct. 12, 14, 26 and 28. The cost is $125, and the registration deadline is Oct. 5.
A Microsoft PowerPoint class will provide the knowledge needed to create professional presentations. The class meets Nov. 9 and 11. The cost is $60, and the registration deadline is Nov. 2.
A Microsoft Excel course covers basic and mid-level aspects of Excel, including creating, editing and enhancing spreadsheets, manipulating charts and creating formulas and macros. This course will be offered from Jan. 11 to Feb. 3, 2010. The cost is $150, and the registration deadline is Jan. 4, 2010.
A Microsoft Access class will teach participants to design databases and generate reports and queries. Class meetings are scheduled for March 15, 17, 22 and 24, 2010. The cost is $125, and the registration deadline is March 8, 2010.
